Canadians know climate change is real, and want to take action to protect the environment.
That’s why our Liberal government is making it more affordable to choose a zero-emission vehicle:
Our goal is for 10% of light-duty vehicle sales in Canada to be zero-emission models by 2025, rising to 30% by 2030.

To help make it possible for more Canadians to choose a zero-emission vehicle, we’re also investing $130 million to deploy new charging and refueling infrastructure in public parking lots, workplaces, commercial and multi-unit residential buildings, and more remote locations.
This builds on our previous investments of over $180 million to complete a coast-to-coast charging network for electric vehicles, establish natural gas stations along key freight corridors and hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicles stations in metropolitan areas, as well as demonstrate innovative solutions for electric vehicle charging infrastructure.
Our investments in clean technologies will not only help protect and preserve the health of the environment, but also keep more money in your pocket.
