Despite Calgary’s 2005 and 2013 floods, the previous federal Conservative government did not invest in Alberta’s flood mitigation infrastructure. $0 invested in 10 years.
The 2013 flood virtually shut down the city. Lives were lost, families were uprooted, businesses suffered and natural areas were destroyed.
We want to lower the chance of floods and reduce the damage they cause.
